Dr Johan was always trying to assist someone.Many mornings he would come into meetings and asked to be updated on the latest news of what was going on in the Company-he would say "tell me the real story/gossip" He would sit back and enjoy every detail that helped him to know what the mood of the employees were. He was always trying to understand why people reacted the way they did.

On an occasion he needed to help a student that he was supporting with "cheap" transport.He wanted a small Suzuki. He picked me up at the office so that we could view a vehicle that I have located. After a lengthy negotiation he bought it. This vehicle was eventually sold to a another senior employee at Toyota when the Doc and student had no further need for it. He was a true leader and always had time to remain a true human. His wisdom will be missed.

I will cherish all the memories that I have of the Doc!
