The Gentle Giant who created waves in the Motor Industry globally, he put Toyota on the maps and built it into a brand and company we feel so proud to be a part of.  Doctor's smile will never be forgotten, he had a smile for everyone irrespective of their rank and he made us feel like we belonged in this Toyota family.

Doctor was a humanitarian, he possessed no fake image and that was appreciated by all who knew him.  Doctor's simplicity was astounding, how can such a great person be so simple?  We have so much to learn from him because he lived and practiced the true Toyota culture.  A humble and respectful leader who was loved and admired by all who knew him.

Doctor's candle has burnt out but his legend will live on forever in our memories. He will be sadly missed by me and my family. It is amazing how children can admire a leader they never met, I can testify to that because my children's heart broke with the sad news.

Doctor was an inspiration to all of us and we can only hope to have a fraction of his character and personality. Ghandhi, Madiba and Doctor Van Zyl, the philosophies of great men to be admired.  We salute you Doctor.
